Lake Der-Chantecoq ( French: Lac du Der-Chantecoq, pronounced [lak dy dɛʁ ʃɑ̃tkɔk]) is situated close to the commune of Saint-Dizier in the departments of Marne and Haute-Marne. It is the largest artificial lake in France, covering 48 km2 (19 sq mi) with 350 million m³ of water.

The Lac du Der, in the Marne, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In January 1974, the valves opened to begin filling Nuisement-aux-Bois, Chantecoq and Champaubert-aux-Bois. Don't look for them on a map of the Marne, the three villages were swallowed up under water just half a century ago.

The Lac du Der-Chantecoq is located between Saint-Dizier and Troyes in the town of Giffaumont-Champaubert, in the department of Marne (51) and at the edge of Haute-Marne (52). Impounded in 1974, the Lac du Der is one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe designed to regulate the waters of the Marne river.
